Creative SoundBlaster and X-Fi Windows 7 Compatibility List

Excited about Windows 7 but not sure which Creative sound cards work with the operating system? Fear not, for here is a list of ones that officially work according to Creative. It’s pretty extensive and covers pretty much every sound card made by the company dating back to the Windows 98SE era. The Compatibility Center on Microsoft’s site is a bit out of date- here’s the latest we got from Creative. Updated: X-Fi and SoundBlaster Drivers for Windows 7

Quick updates: Creative has issued a minor update for their X-Fi and SoundBlaster cards for the Windows 7 Beta. The X-Fi update enables Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect features, while the SoundBlaster driver addresses an issue regarding the volume control becoming unresponsive after plugging in and removing an audio device. Included in the SoundBlaster update is a fix to theĀ  X-Fi Notebook, which allows for a speaker icon to appear in Entertainment Mode, and an update for the X-Fi Xtreme Audio Karaoke, which resolves the issue of the Wireless MusicĀ Control button appearing in Volume Pane. As with all Windows 7 Beta drivers from Creative, this is a beta, so take precautions before downloading.

Creative Console Updated; SoundBlaster Audigy Windows 7 Drivers

Vista and XP users, a massive update has been released for your X-Fi sound card software, Creative Console. You can download it directly from Creative at the Support page for your respective sound card model, or archived here.

For the SoundBlaster Audigy and Live! audio card series, there is a beta release of Windows 7 drivers. As with all beta software, none of this is official and is to be used at your own risk. They’re also at the Support page, and archived on SkyDrive.
